Main Document: University ITS NMP (DRAFT May 6.03)
Attachments A1 & A2:
- Diagram:
Current state of installed networking hardware by building.
- A1 is
for Storrs; A2 is for the Depot and Regional campuses.
- GREEN denotes hardware that complies with
UITS’s current standard of 10/100MB switches with GB uplinks and VLAN
capabilities. RED denotes all hardware that does not comply.
Attachments B1 & B2:
- Diagram:
Current state of telecommunication rooms by building
- B1 is
for Storrs; B2 is for the Depot and Regional Campuses.
- GREEN denotes rooms that comply with UITS’s current
standard of dedicated rooms, sufficiently sized and with proper
environmentals. These rooms
include relay racks and patch panels for LAN terminations. RED
denotes all rooms that do not comply.
Attachments C1 & C2:
- Diagram:
Current state of telecommunications cabling by building.
- C1 is
for Storrs; C2 is for the Depot and Regional Campuses.
GREEN denotes cabling that
complies with UITS’s current standard of Category 5E cabling for both “voice”
and “data” connections. YELLOW and RED denote all cabling that does not comply.
Attachments D1 & D2:
- Diagram:
Buildings that are compliant with UITS’s current standards.
- D1 is
for Storrs; D2 is for the Depot and Regional Campuses.
- GREEN denotes all buildings that meet all three
of the above-mentioned criteria. RED
denotes all non-compliant buildings.
Attachments F1.1, F1.2, F2.1,
F2.2, F3.1
& F3.2:
- Spreadsheet:
Detailed break down of budgetary estimates to upgrade the Network.
- F1.1
& F1.2 denote the options that include updating all buildings to meet
UITS’ current standards for infrastructure, cabling and networking
hardware. This plan also includes
a wireless overlay.
- F2.1
& F2.2 denote the options that include redundancy for all core,
distribution and access layer networking hardware.
- F3.1
& F3.2 denote the options that include redundancy in addition to
full-featured services such as chassis based core devices installed with
network analysis and firewall modules.
Attachments G1 & G2:
- Spreadsheet:
Detailed break down of “data” port counts by building.
- G1
& G2 include proposed growth totals and proposed collapse point
locations with fiber types.
Attachment H:
- Timeline
and milestones for proposed network upgrade (pending).
Attachment I:
- Minimum
baseline for future Networking services.
